Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it. We will never sell your personal data to third parties.

What We Collect

Information you provide

  • Account data: Name, email address, phone number, occupation
  • Trading preferences: Onboarding responses (trading style, experience, risk profile)
  • Payment data: Processed via Razorpay — we do not store card numbers
  • Communications: Messages you send via our contact form or support email

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, backtest configurations
  • Device data: Browser type, OS, screen resolution, IP address
  • Cookies: Session tokens, preference cookies (see Cookies section)

How We Use It

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Momentum IQ platform
  • Personalise your experience based on trading preferences
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Send transactional emails (account, billing, security alerts)
  • Send product updates and newsletters (you can unsubscribe anytime)
  • Analyse aggregated usage patterns to improve the product
  • Comply with legal obligations under Indian law
We use your onboarding responses (trading style, capital range, etc.) to personalise strategy recommendations. This data is never shared with or sold to third parties, advertisers, or financial institutions.

Sharing of Data

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

  • Service providers: Razorpay (payments), AWS (hosting), Google (OAuth login) — under strict data processing agreements
  • Analytics: Anonymised, aggregated usage data only
  • Legal: When required by Indian law, court order, or government authority

Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. Optional cookies help us understand how users navigate the platform.

  • Session cookies: Required for login — deleted when you close the browser
  • Preference cookies: Remember language, theme settings (30-day expiry)
  • Analytics cookies: Anonymous usage tracking — you can opt out in Settings

Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. billing records kept for 7 years per Indian accounting regulations).

Backtest results and strategy configurations are deleted immediately on account closure.

Your Rights

Under applicable Indian law and our commitments, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Correction: Update inaccurate data via your Profile page
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and data
  • Portability: Export your backtest data as CSV
  • Opt-out: Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time

Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, and access controls. However, no system is 100% secure. If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, contact us immediately at security@momentumiq.in.

Children

Momentum IQ is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe we have collected data from a minor, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notice. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
